Welcome to Nos Danza Presents, a vibrant project dedicated to sharing the joy and transformative power of dance with people from all walks of life.

  • At Nos Danza Presents, we curate a diverse array of classes, workshops, events, and creative projects that invite individuals to explore the magic of movement. Whether you are young or old, a seasoned dancer or a complete novice, Nos Danza’s offerings provide a supportive and welcoming environment for you to experience the joy and power of moving your body freely, creatively, and expressively.

  • We wholeheartedly believe that dance has infinite benefits and the potential to enrich and transform our lives. We believe in dancing’s remarkable ability to uplift sprits, nurture creativity and foster connection. We believe that dance awakens our authenticity and empowers us to embrace the entirety of who we are.

We know through experience that dancing changes us. It softens us, opens us, sensitises us. It makes us more aware, more vulnerable, more empathic. Dance is a universal language that transcends boundaries and connects us on a deeper level - it brings us together. We really do think the world would be a better place if more people danced and so that’s our little mission: to get more people dancing!

  • We welcome everyone to join us as we share our passion for dance and create meaningful experiences that are accessible and enjoyable for one and all. Because dance is for every-body, and every-body can dance; we were all born knowing how to, so this is just a space to help us remember and unlock what we already know.

So, whether you're yearning for a creative outlet, seeking connection or community, or simply looking for a new way to stay active, join us at Nos Danza Presents and let the magic of movement enrich your life.

  • Dancing Together is an open level class with a focus on exploring and enjoying different ways of dancing together. It is a chance to connect to yourself and others in a creative, expressive and playful way, while enlivening your whole being – mind, body, heart and soul. We practice tuning-in to ourselves as individuals to discover the essence of how we love to move, whilst also sharpening our superhero skills of awareness and sensitivity so that we can tune-in to each other for some fun explorations of dancing in pairs, trios and as a whole group.

  • The class is structured and guided, but the movement itself is free-form: there are no steps to learn, only suggestions and invitations to guide you into your own authentic movement and facilitate different ways of moving in relation to others.

In some sessions there may be physical contact between participants, but an alternative will always be offered for anyone who does not want to give or receive touch.

  • Everybody! Whether you have not danced since you were a toddler or dance every day, this is an open level practice that is suitable for everyone.

  • There are various prices available. Please click here to find out more.

  • Katie’s classes dance the stress out of my body and leave me feeling connected, alive and inspired. I had felt daunted by the idea of learning steps, but this alternative approach to dancing is pure joy.

  • As a man in my 70s with no dance training, I have found Katie's sessions inspiring. There is a journey of connection to movement, to music, and then outwards to others. Finding the dance in me as a part of the bigger dance.

FLOORWORK

a 4-week introductory course for beginners

A 4-week course for beginners taking place on:

>>> Tuesday evenings, 6.30-8pm, on 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th June 2024.

>>> Classes take place at King Charles Hall, Falmouth.

>>> Click here to book your place (single class ticket available as well as course ticket).

  • Floorwork is a flowing and dynamic style of contemporary dance that takes place at a low level, close to the ground. Think rolling & sliding, spinning & crawling; imagine upside down fun with handstand & cartwheel-like movements. With some similarities to movement practices such Capoeira or Animal Flow, Floorwork is a fun and playful world that gives you the benefits of a full body work-out while also promoting your creativity and flow.

  • This 4-week course for beginners is designed to introduce you to some of the basic mechanics of Floorwork, allowing you to explore a new and fun way of moving. Throughout the course you will learn how to safely move into, on, and out of the floor by learning: how to utilise points of support; how to distribute and shift your weight at a low level; and various techniques for rolling and sliding. You will learn movement patterns and coordinations that will develop your strength and agility, while also providing you with the building blocks to find your own Floorwork Flow. Expect improved flexibility, coordination, and body awareness, enriching your overall movement experience.

  • This course is for anyone who enjoys physical activity and wants to explore new movements and learn new skills in a creative way. Whether you're passionate about dancing, climbing, martial arts, or simply intrigued by functional movement, this course is for you. No previous experience in a specific movement practice is necessary - absolute beginners welcome!

PLEASE NOTE, a reasonable level of fitness and mobility is required for this class. Participants should be comfortable sitting kneeling, and be able to bear weight through the hands and wrists (e.g. you can “bear crawl” with your knees off the floor). Young people aged 14 and upwards are welcome - parents/guardians, please contact me first to discuss (katielusby@hotmail.com).

  • The classes will follow a progression from one week to the next, but you're welcome to drop into a single session if you can't commit to all four. Each class is designed to stand alone, ensuring valuable learning and enjoyment.

  • £40 for the course or £12 for a single session.
